This community needs assessment was a collaboration in my Professional Health Promotion course, focusing on the analysis of the impact of aging in Georgia’s prison healthcare system, and how this affects prisoner rights. This assignment strengthened my knowledge on the healthcare system available for aging prisoners in the United States, and it allowed me to learn on how to delegate scientific tasks among the group. This needs assessment demonstrates my ability to:
– collaborate effectively in a group setting.
– research across numerous databases to address health inequities.
– describe a health problem and encourage affected incarcerated individuals and legislators to take action.
