This systematic review investigates the current theories on risk factors associated with the role of gestational hypertension and eclampsia on birth weight in Georgia. I completed this systematic review for my epidemiological research with the Practice, Research, and Mentorship in Epidemiology (PRIME) team at the University of Georgia. This piece is lengthy, so I have included a brief excerpt from the review that summarizes my findings at the image above or here. This piece exemplifies my ability to:
-Assimilated peer-review research articles
-Search electronic databases to find and summarize relevant literature
-Identified gaps in knowledge and unresolved problems by evaluating selected readings
-Conducted statistical analyses, bivariate analysis, logistic regression, and professional writing
Completing this systematic review allowed me to analyze the health inequities and the lack of resources mothers are subject to, as this serves as the majority concentration for my work completed throughout my undergraduate career. I am pursuing a career in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and I aspire to close communication gaps and provide resources for these mothers who are subject to health inequities.
